  18. Description of Working Group:

  20. The User Services Working Group provides a regular forum for people
  21. interested in user services to identify and initiate projects designed
  22. to improve the quality of information available to end-users of the
  23. Internet.  (Note that the actual projects themselves will be handled
  24. by separate groups, such as IETF working groups created to perform certain
  25. projects, or outside organizations such as SIGUCCS.
  26.  
  27. (1) Meet on a regular basis to consider projects designed to improve services 
  28.     to end-users.  In general, projects should:
  29.  
  30.        - Clearly address user assistance needs;
  31.        - Produce an end-result (e.g., a document, a program plan, etc.);
  32.        - Have a reasonably clear approach to achieving the end-result
  33.          (with an estimated time for completion);
  34.        - Not duplicate existing or previous efforts.
  35.    
  36. (2) Create working groups or other focus groups to carry out projects deemed
  37.     worthy of pursuing.
  38.    
  39. (3) Provide a forum in which user services providers can discuss and identify 
  40.     common concerns.
